Teacher: Emma and Pedro – can you present your project on seasons and weather?
Emma and Pedro: Yes, of course.
Pedro: Many countries have four seasons – spring, summer, fall, and winter.
Emma: In the spring, the weather is usually warm and sunny. Leaves and flowers start to grow.
Pedro: Summer is the hottest season. The trees have green leaves, and there are lots of flowers in parks and gardens.
Emma: In the fall, the weather gets colder again. It’s often windy. The leaves on the trees change color.
Pedro: Winter is the coldest season. Some countries have snow in the winter.
Emma: Some countries have a monsoon season. It rains a lot in a monsoon.
Pedro: Sometimes there are floods when it rains a lot. A flood is when there is a lot of water in the streets. Sometimes people can’t drive their cars because there
is so much water.
Emma: But in some countries, it doesn’t rain for a long time. The land is very dry. This is called a drought.
Pedro: Many countries have storms.
Emma: In a storm you often see lightning and you hear thunder. Thunder is the noise the lightning makes.
Teacher: Good job. That was very interesting. Who’s next?
