Introduction:
This topic and accompanying tasks / activities offers the teacher (s) and students the opportunity to develop both content and language knowledge to an appropriate depth over a single lesson or a series of class hours.
Procedure :
WARMER 5min
Play Two minutes (see page xvii) with the heading Weather.
1. Write all the words on the board
2.ask What’s the weather like today?
3.Review storm, thunder, and lightning.
Pre-activity: learning the vocabulary related to the topic (15 min)
1.Ask students to help you stick the word cards for the seasons on the board in order (spring, summer, fall,
winter).
2. Ask What season is it now? (It’s (fall).) What’s the weather like here in (fall)?
3. Play the recording.
4.Students listen and look at the photographs.
5.Play it again, pausing to ask, e.g., What’s a (flood)? What do you see/hear in a storm?
6.Check comprehension of start to grow and change color.
