Activity 5: T/F -- Video. Giving Clear Instructions for Forming Groups

  1. Before playing the video, explain that the Mentees will watch the video and take a quiz.

  2. Mentees should take notes so they can do well on the quiz.

  3. Ask true-false questions using thumbs up/thumbs down.

    1. Use long sentences to give instructions. (F)

    2. Check students’ understanding of instructions. (T)

    3. Model conversations so students can understand the task and hear examples of the language. (T)

    4. After dividing students into groups, remind them about the task before they begin working. (T)

    5. Using gestures and body language can make instructions clearer. (T)
