2.1 A brief review on the life and the books of the author, about the adventure

Novel, the plot and the main idea of the work

Writer Akildjan Husan was born in April 1932 in Ravotlik village of Jizzakh in a peasant family. After graduating from high school (1940-1949), he studied at the Samarkand Institute (1949-1954). Then he worked in the newspaper “Lenin yulida” as a secretary.

After his arrival in Tashkent in 1960, he worked in the bulletin “Mushtum” as a literary man, head of the department and responsible secretary. From 1967, he moved to the “Sharq Yulduzi” newspaper, where he served as head of the department until 1979, and then as secretary. From 1980 until the present days, he has been working in the bulletin “Gulistan” magazine from various positions to the post of Deputy Editor.

The work of Akildjan Husanov began in his student years, and till these days many of his poems, prose works, novels and novels have been published.

They are:

Destiny of musician” (1963), “Samarkand’s Nightingale”, “The kinds” (1971), “Beauty of Kashkar” (1976), “The boy who grew up in the mountains” (1975), “A Mountain Boy or New Adventures of Nephew” (1980), “The Mysterious Man” (1980), “The Nightingale’s meat” (1977), “Unweared Ring” (1983), “Where Happinesses” (1987), “Traveling to the Village” (1988), “The crane who didn’t fly even if he could” (1990), “Love of the Master” (1991).

In these works, the writer tells of the experiences of pure and innocuous youth, their unresolved dreams and, their adventures of love. Many of his works were published in Russian and other languages. In 1982, he was awarded with the title of “Honored Art Worker of Uzbekistan”. Akildjan Husanov died in 2001.

One of his masterpieces is the adventurous novel “The boy who grew up in the mountains”.

Adventurous story itself features physical action and courageous heroes who save others from danger or impending doom. The adventure genre of fiction is fast-paced and usually centers on a protagonist in a dangerous or risky situation. Adventure fiction overlaps other genres, such as romance, spy thrillers, military adventures and Westerns. Science fiction novels always contain elements of adventure.

Adventure stories feature physical action and courageous heroes who save others from danger or impending doom. The adventure genre of fiction is fast-paced and usually centers on a protagonist in a dangerous or risky situation. Adventure fiction overlaps other genres, such as romance, spy thrillers, military adventures and Westerns. Science fiction novels always contain elements of adventure.

Adventure novels typically have fast-paced, action-packed plot lines. Stories about epic journeys or epic tales -- often involving a mixture of adventure and fantasy -- have slightly slower plot lines that culminate with a thrilling climax or a series of climactic events. Examples include the “Odyssey” by Homer and “Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien. The setting of an adventure story often takes place “elsewhere” and might include maps, intriguing backgrounds and antiquities to help readers understand the tale, says Joyce Saricks in her book “The Readers' Advisory Guide to Genre Fiction”. Adventure fiction tends to have a dark, foreboding mood with an expectant tone because readers do not usually find out if the protagonist survives until the end of the story. Some adventure genre authors incorporate humor into their stories to soften the mood, such as Mark Twain's use of light-hearted dialogue in “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”. Military adventures, such as “The Hunt for Red October” by Tom Clancy, “Flight of the Intruder” by Stephen Coonts or “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card, reflect an especially menacing mood because characters frequently face perilous circumstances and must constantly guard against intruders, suggests Saricks. Antagonists in adventure novels tend to be extremely evil, so readers desperately want the hero or heroine to defeat them. For example, antagonists in the James Bond series by Ian Fleming typically lack moral values and deserve punishment for their corrupt behavior. Villains in superhero adventure stories show little regard for human life and have self-serving interests, such as the unquenchable desire for power, fame or wealth. Even though heroes in adventure fiction have character flaws and often evolve during the course of the story, the genre contains clearly defined good and bad people. Thus, the novel of Akildjan Husan also can be a brilliant example for this genre of novel.

The main plot of this work is that the boy whose name is Artikbay lived in the mountains, bearing hardships throughout the years because of the vicious attempts and dirty deeds of ill-mannered person. In this story, you can observe interesting events, amazing adventures and some extraordinary situations. Priority of this work is that while reading you can feel kindness, humanity and superior quality of some people.

Readers greeted this adventure by Akildjan Husan warmly. After the first edition of the work had been published, many letters were sent to the author. Referring to the reader’s interest in this story, it is being reprinted with some corrections and was translated into many languages of the world. Readers who open this book cannot just close it before they reach the ending. The story line is so absorbing that once you start reading it, it is impossible to give it up in the middle. Therefore, I highly recommend this book for people of all ages. Because this book is worth to read and worth to spent time.
