particular type of syntactic category; for them the term excludes those
parts of speech that are considered to be functional, such as pronouns.
The term form class is also used, although this has various conflicting
definitions.
Speech is the putting together of an ordinary word to express a
complete thought. The class of word consists of eight categories: noun,
verb, participle, article, pronoun, preposition, adverb, conjunction. A
common noun in form is classified as a noun.
Structurally, my present course work consists of four parts – Introduction, Two chapters, Conclusion and Bibliography.

CHAPTER I. . the classification of nouns in theory

Nouns can be divided into two broad categories: proper nouns and common nouns. Common nouns can further be divided into abstract nouns and concrete nouns, and also concrete nouns have four more subcategories: count nouns, mass nouns, collective nouns and measure nouns. 1

Proper nouns vs. common nouns

One important distinction to be made is whether a noun is a proper noun or a common noun. A proper noun is a specific name of a person, place, or thing, and is always capitalized.
Example: Does Tina have much homework to do this evening?
Tina- is the name of a specific person.
Example: I would like to visit Old Faithful.
Old Faithful is the specific name of a geological phenomenon.
The opposite of a proper noun is a common noun, sometimes known as a generic noun. A common noun is the generic name of an item in a class or group and is not capitalized unless appearing at the beginning of a sentence or in a title.
Example: The girl crossed the river.
Girl is a common noun; we do not learn the identity of the girl by reading this sentence, though we know the action she takes. River is also a common noun in this sentence.
