Defining the Business Model in the New World of Digital Business

PROPOSED DEFINITION FOR BUSINESS MODEL 

Our literature analysis has shown a fuzzy and an inconsistent understanding of the business model concept in general. 

Researchers have not aligned themselves with any business model definition since no one definition is comprehensive. We 

have followed a systematic methodology to deduce a definition for the business model using the following three principles: 

 

1-  The definition should be comprehensive and general. 

2-  It is not sufficient to define the business model only in terms of its components.
