4.2.2Exceptions to GMW3600 ADV Execution RequirementsThis section specifies any exceptions to the ADV executions requirements in GMW3600. No Exceptions to Requirements. 4.3Math-based Modeling Requirements and Support of Virtual ReviewsThe GM CAE Engineer for the Front Strut will be the Supplier's single-point CAE contact between the Supplier and GM. The following items detail the requirements to support the virtual build events. The Supplier shall provide any additions and/or exceptions to the math-based modeling requirements and requirements to support of the virtual reviews stipulated in this section and GMW3600. These additions and/or exceptions shall be presented at the Technical Reviews prior to source selection. The Supplier shall provide to the CAE Engineer the analytical models to support the Virtual Assessments as specified in Table 4.3.1. (Synchronization point names and number of synchronization points may need to be adjusted to align with the program-specific GVDP.) These models are required to support GM’s vehicle-level modeling activities. The latest version of the model shall be provided six (6) weeks prior to Virtual Assessment. Updated models may be requested between Virtual Assessments to support GM component/subsystem modeling activities. The supplier may also be asked to provide analytical models required for iterative work or system/vehicle level analyses to the GM CAE Engineer as required beyond what is needed in the Virtual Assessments. The Supplier shall provide to the CAE Engineer the analytical deliverables (results) specified in Table 4.3.2. one (1) week prior to indicated Virtual Assessments. (Assessment names and number of assessment may need to be adjusted to align with the program-specific GVDP.) The Supplier shall provide any material properties and other engineering information to support vehicle synthesis/analysis activities. These are typically mass, center of gravity, moments of inertia, specific mechanical properties, fatigue properties, High-velocity(>TBD m/s) shock absorber force-velocity curves, non-linear bushing load-deflection data, jounce bumper impact data, tested coupon samples, thermal properties, electrical loads and specifications, etc. that are inputs to program-level analysis/simulation work. GM's CAE engineers will define the specific data required and /or component test/characterize methodology. Information shall be provided at the following program milestones: Mule GA MRD IV GA MRD PPV GA MRD (Front Strut) As part of the analytical deliverables, the supplier also needs to provide a detailed engineering report containing, but not limited to, the contents below. The report should be in Microsoft Word or Powerpoint format. All model contents, detailed boundary conditions, and details regarding model assumptions must be described to GM in the report. Material properties such as Elastic Modulus, Poisson’s Ratio, Density, Yield Strength, Ultimate Tensile Strength, non-linear stress-strain curve, fatigue properties, shock absorber force-velocity curves, non-linear bushing load-deflection data, jounce bumper impact data should be included in analytical model and provided to GM CAE Engineer. All material properties should reflect the proposed manufacturing and heat treat process (such as cold draw, hot forming, tempering, annealing, etc.) not a textbook number. The analysis report should contain both quantitative and qualitative descriptions such that GM can understand and draw reasonable conclusions from the presented material. If design optimization or countermeasure studies are deemed necessary, the results and technical conclusions must also be presented in the report.
