In the formation and development of the national economy of any country, the regions that make up it are of great importance. The implementation of economic reforms and the achievement of sustainable development largely depend on the potential, opportunities and activities of these regions, that is, various internal parts of the country.
China is one of the countries whose economy is developing rapidly. One of the important directions of China's economic development is the implementation of regional policy aimed at socio-economic development of regions. The main directions of China's regional policy in the new era are as follows:

- solving social and environmental problems in the regions;
- development of urban and rural settlements, regulation and management of demographic processes (urbanization, migration);
- correct regional organization of production forces;
- to ensure the employment of the population, increase the welfare of the people.
