of water and within a short time without the child making any
noise or crying.
Safety measures in the bathroom
1. Bring and prepare everything that you need to give the child a
bath beforehand so that you will not need to leave the bathroom
to fetch anything.
2. Your child’s life is more important
than the ringing of the
phone or the doorbell. If you must leave the bathroom, take the
child out of the tub
and wrap him in a dry towel, and take him
with you when you leave the bathroom. (It cannot be emphasized
enough: Never leave your child in the bathtub on his own, even
for one second).
3. Empty the water from all vessels or from the bathtub as soon
as you have finished using it.
4. Most cases of drowning occur in the toilet
when it is filled with
water and the child tries to look down into it, then he falls into
the water because his head is the heaviest part of his body.
5. Get into the habit of keeping the lid of
the toilet closed all the
time. As an extra precaution, you could buy a toilet seat with a
lock and lock it every time you have finished using the toilet.
6. You have to check the temperature
of the water using a
thermometer before you start to give your baby a bath. The
temperature of the water should be around 37°C. Put the cold
water in the bath first then add as much hot water as is needed
7. Keep the door of the bathroom closed
at all times so that the
child cannot enter the bathroom and be exposed to the dangers
we have mentioned.
