For th is reason, people co n tin u e to rely on th e ir tra d itio n s to give th e m a sense of th e ir ro o ts and to re m in d th e m of w h e re they've com e fro m . C o m m e m o ra tin g the past is also a w ay of b rin g in g people to g e th e r, such as d u rin g Independence Day. H ow w ill y o u r c o u n try 's c u ltu re have changed in fifty yea rs' tim e ? We are be com ing m ore and m o re m u ltic u ltu ra l, so I'm not sure th a t a ll of o u r tra d itio n s w ill survive in th e ir c u rre n t fo rm . For exam ple, can we co n tin u e to regard C h ris tm a s as o u r m a jo r a n n u a l c e le b ra tio n if p e rha ps h a lf of th e c o u n try does not have C h ris tia n ity as its re lig io n ? It w o u ld be a sha m e to lose o u r tra d itio n s . However, if th a t is indeed th e case, s o m e th in g new w ill I'm sure have replaced th e m in fifty yea rs' tim e . And m aybe it is b e tte r to develop new c u s to m s and c e le b ra tio n s th a t m ore a c c u ra te ly re fle c t m o d e rn society. Download Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
