Film festivals
Film festival is a screening of works of cinematographic art in various forms. Many countries with developed cinematography organize festivals in order to show the best achievements of the national film art, determine the direction of further development, bring people together, and contribute to the development of art.
International film festivals are a traditional type of film festival. They are competitive or non-competitive, specialized and non-specialized. At competitive international film festivals, the jury recognizes the creators of the film (director, actor, camera operator, artist, etc.) with awards, prizes, diplomas, etc. Each film shown at the non-competition festival will receive a diploma of "participant of the festival", as well as awards and prizes established by various organizations.
Venice (Italy) is the oldest of the world's largest film festivals. The main prize of this festival is "Golden Lion of St. Mark" (for the best film, the best debut, the best female and male role). Since 1946, the Cannes International Film Festival has been held every year in April-May. The first Tashkent International Film Festival was held in 1968. Since then, it has been operating as a festival of Asian, African and Latin American countries. Grand prize: "Golden Semurg" (for the best film), "Khoja Nasriddin" (for the best director), "Silver Semurg" (for the best debut), "Golden Fir Tree" (for the best male role), "Golden Tulip" (for the best female role).
The opening ceremony of the 14th Tashkent International Film Festival "Masterpiece of the Silk Road" was held at the House of Cinematographers. At the event, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev's greeting to the participants of the festival was read out. More than 300 film masters from 35 countries of the world are participating in this conference, which is held on the basis of the noble idea of ​​"for peace, enlightenment and development".
