Lesson 2
Module 3
Teachers do use technology. They use Facebook, they use
different web tools – blogs, wikis and so on. But they don’t
think of it as an instrument that could enhance learning.
Students similarly, you know they learn all the time, but they
do not really connect to the teachers or other students. They
do need to make that connection and see that they can use
technology not only for entertainment and fun, but also as a
tool that can give them the opportunity to learn with others,
for example by using a forum as a place to exchange ideas.
Teachers can and should facilitate that, but it doesn’t seem to
be happening at the rate that I would like to see it happening.
Formal education is still limiting learning opportunities, and
technology is opening things up. So the two don’t seem to
work together. Hard for me.
