TECHNICal ComPETENCIES
In addition to being entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial
farmers are also excellent farmers. They apply all the
competencies of an entrepreneur to their farming
activities. Technical competencies are needed particularly
in three areas: managing inputs, managing production
and managing marketing. What sets entrepreneurial
farmers apart from other farmers in these aspects of
farming is their behaviour. The farmer-entrepreneur is
always on the lookout for better ways to do things and is
willing to experiment.
