Teacher’s notes
The objective of this chapter is to give a brief description to students about Genetic Engineering and a balanced view of the ethical concerns raised by the use of new technologies.
Also the class debates can be organised among students on benefits and risks; their ethical concerns. The groups may debate twice on opposite position to the previous one, it would help in better understanding of the issues.
There are many existing resources on the subject, and biology teachers often introduce some of these issues when explaining the technology.
