COLLECTION SCHEDULE & GUIDELINES

BULK WASTE/APPLIANCE

Advanced Disposal is proud to have been chosen by the Borough 

of East Berlin to be your new solid waste and recycling service 

provider. Please know we will continue to provide the high quality, 

efficient collection services you have come to expect. 

Residents will receive a 96-gallon wheeled cart for trash and a 

65-gallon wheeled cart for recycling making collection easy and 

convenient. Carts are expected to be delivered curbside the week of 

September 28th.

In addition, your municipality will continue to send you the invoice 

for your solid waste services.

CART PLACEMENT

•  Carts should be placed no more than three (3) feet from the curb.

•  There needs to be at least three (3) feet between your cart and 

any other objects such as parked cars, light poles, mailboxes 

and other carts.

•  Be sure to place garbage and recycling carts on opposite sides 

of the driveway.

•  Handle should be facing the house and away from the street.

IN ORDER TO GET THE BEST POSSIBLE SERVICE, PLEASE FOLLOW THE COLLECTION 

GUIDELINES LISTED BELOW.

GARBAGE:

 Place garbage curbside the night before or by 4:00 a.m. on your scheduled day  

of collection. All garbage must be containerized (in a garbage bag), and placed in the provided 

96-gallon cart in order to be collected. Items 

NOT accepted for collection include electronics, 

hazardous waste or medical waste. 

SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING:

 Place recycling curbside by 4:00 a.m. on your scheduled day of 

collection. All recyclables must be in the provided 65-gallon cart in order to be collected. Do NOT 

place plastic bags or Styrofoam in the cart. Accepted recyclable materials include:

•  Newspaper

•  Magazines

•  Aluminum cans and foil

•  Phone books

•  Steel cans

•  Clear, green and brown glass

•  Number 1-7 plastics

•  Kraft bags

•  Cardboard (cut down to 2 foot x 2 foot)

•  Box board

•  Fiberboard (cereal and shoe boxes)

•   Junk mail, office paper and  

miscellaneous paper containers

BULK WASTE:

 Residents must call ahead to schedule a pickup. One bulk item per week will be 

collected at no additional charge on the same day as your garbage and recycling collection. 

Items include white goods and items too large to handle along with garbage. Acceptable 

items include, but are not limited to: tires, furniture such as sofas and mattresses, discarded 

washers, dryers, ranges, water heaters and other similar domestic and commercial large

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

 Observed holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence 

Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Routes will be pushed back one day 

following a holiday. For example, if a holiday is on Monday and your normal collection day is 

Monday, you will be service on Tuesday. Customers who are normally serviced on Friday will be 

serviced on Saturday.

PLEASE NOTE:

 Advanced Disposal operates right-side routing for safety. Thus, we pick up one 

side of the street at a time as opposed to having our trucks or employees cross the street.
