ABSTRACT FOR THE MASTER'S THESIS "EMOTIONAL-EVALUATIVE SUFFIXATION IN THE LANGUAGE OF MODERN MEDIA"
Relevance of the research topic. Word formation and word-making became more active at the end of the XX century, but this process continues to this day. One of the main sources that fix neoplasms is live oral speech, the language of the media, where new lexical units are of great importance. The study of active word-formation processes helps to establish the most important changes in the derivational system of the Russian language.
The relevance of the research is determined by the increased role of mass media (especially new electronic forms of mass media) in modern society and the expansion of means of verbal influence on mass public consciousness. Modern media discourse is characterized by conflictogenicity, a tendency to violate communicative, ethical, legal norms of communication in public discourse, the use of means of speech aggression and manipulation. One of the most effective ways of expressing evaluation are word-formative derivatives, including non-casual, occasional words.
Evaluativeness is a natural property of a neoplasm due to its pragmatic function and creative linguistic nature. In accordance with the global communicative attitude to the impact, the neoplasm transmits information not only about the denotation, but also about the author's attitude to it. Thus, for media derivatives, the evaluation function turns out to be more important than the nominative one. Neoplasms in media texts are an actual means of expressing evaluation, since "the source of motivation for the invention of neoplasms by media representatives are daily events in the country and the world, the difficult situation in all spheres of social life, for which there are often not enough existing conventional designations
There are many works devoted to active processes in Russian word formation in the 1990s-2000s, but many trends noted at the turn of the century are losing relevance nowadays, so there is a need to study the language of the media of the last decade.
This work is devoted to the most striking trends in the development of the language of modern journalism, it focuses on the active processes of Russian word formation
