Step3. Procedure of the lesson

Activity 1 Play Simon says.

Objective: to warm up, to revise vocabulary from the previous lesson;

Play Simon says. See Unit 5 Lesson 1 Activity 1a and 1b. Instead of ‘please’ use Simon says.



e.g. ‘Simon says: Touch your desk.’

Activity 2a Match the words and colours.

Objective: to present new vocabulary;

PP match the words and the colours.

Activity 2b Listen and repeat.

Objective: to practise pronunciation;

PP listen and repeat the words from 2a after you.



Activity 3a Look, listen and repeat.

Objective: to present apostrophe (’) for possession;

1 PP listen to the tape and look at the picture.

2 Write on the blackboard ‘Lucy’s book is red.’ Ask PP to translate the sentence.

3 Underline the apostrophe. Ask PP to guess what the apostrophe is used for.



4 Play the tape again and ask PP to repeat after the tape.

Lucy’s book is red. Jenny’s pen is yellow. Teddy’s pen is blue Andy’s ruler is green.

5 Ask PP to look at the picture with girls and start the sentence ‘The girls’ desk is ... (PP should say ‘white’). Ask PP to translate the sentence into mother tongue. Do the same with the second picture.

6 Explain to PP how to use the apostrophe(’) with plurals.
