Choose the answers that best describe you (be honest!). If possible, also ask a friend and
a teacher if they agree with you.

When I speak English,

I want to be as accurate as possible.

I tend just to think about com m unicating my message - I love talking,

I am able to focus equally on accuracy and com m unicating my message.
2
Thinking about gram m ar,

I always try to use the new gram m ar I have learnt, though I may not always be accurate,

I use only the gram m ar I know w ell because I prefer not to make mistakes

I am confident with gram m ar - I know the basics and more complex gram m ar and
can use it a ll accurately.
3
Thinking about vocabulary,

I know which words are form al and inform al, and use them correctly; I also try to
use less common words and idioms to show I have a wide vocabulary; I realise that
collocations are im portant and I try to use them,

I don't think I have a wide vocabulary - I often repeat words and I mainly use
common words like
good, interesting,
and
tike.

I can talk com fortably and w e ll on fa m ilia r topics like
fa m itya nd hobbies,
but I find it
difficu lt to talk on unfam iliar topics.
U
When it comes to pronunciation

I don't really think about it.

I think I have alm ost native-like pronunciation,

I wish my pronunciation was much better.

Thinking especially about Part 2,

I can rarely talk fo r two m inutes on a topic.

I can som etim es talk for two m inutes but I think I repeat myself a bit.

I have no trouble talking fo r two minutes.
