Abstract. This article presents some opinions about the functional-semantic features of deictic units in English and Uzbek languages. Also, the article explains the use of phraseological units in English and the meaning of translation in Uzbek.

Абстрактный. В данной статье представлены некоторые мнения о функционально-семантических особенностях дейктических единиц английского и узбекского языков. Также в статье объясняется употребление фразеологизмов в английском языке и значение перевода на узбекский язык.

INTRODUCTION.
All languages have a social nature and therefore cannot exist and develop outside of society. Language, first of all, is a means of communication between people that actively influences the formation of its vocabulary. At the same time, we must not forget that language is a system of signs with its own internal laws. In any developed language, the same idea can be expressed differently depending on the situation.
Linguistic doublet, as well as doublet in language or simply doublet or - in linguistics, doublets mean the same or semantically close, etymologically identical lexical units and groups of units. In addition, the creative basis differs semantically and functionally stylistically during the evolutionary development of the language. On the contrary, doublets differ phonetically, morphologically or syntactically, but completely.[1,38]
