GLOSSARY
1. Listening comprehension - the ability to understand spoken material.
2. Flora - the plant life of a particular region or habitat.
3. Fauna - the animal life of a particular region or habitat.
4. Biodiversity - the variety of living organisms in a particular ecosystem.
5. Habitat - the natural environment in which a particular species lives.
6. Ecosystem - a community of living and non-living things that interact with each other in a particular environment.
7. Conservation - the protection and preservation of natural resources and habitats.
8. Endangered species - a species that is at risk of becoming extinct due to various factors such as habitat loss, pollution, and hunting.
9. Adaptation - the process by which an organism changes to better suit its environment.
10. Food chain - the sequence of organisms in an ecosystem that transfer energy through consumption.
11. Predator - an animal that hunts and kills other animals for food.
12. Prey - an animal that is hunted and killed by another animal for food.
13. Migration - the seasonal movement of animals from one region to another in search of food, water, or breeding grounds.
14. Erosion - the process by which soil and rock are worn away by natural forces such as wind and water.
