Agreement in Person
A pronoun must agree in person with its antecedent.
Do not
use the second-person pronoun you to refer to an antecedent in the third person.
Use a suitable third-person pronoun.
Incorrect:
The
Harpers went to the museum, where
you saw the fossilized skeletons
of several dinosaurs.
Correct:
The Harpers went to the museum, where
they saw the fossilized skeletons
of several dinosaurs.
When a pronoun has another pronoun as its antecedent, be
sure the two pronouns agree
in person. Do not shift from
they to
you, I, to
you, or
one to
you.
Incorrect:
Do'stlaringiz bilan baham:
