Annotation. The article discussed the gaps in the language lexicon and the problems of 
filling them. In particular, attention is paid to the lexical development of the Uzbek literary 
language in the 20th century and the effective use of the internal capabilities of the language in 
this process. The importance of works in this direction in maintaining the purity of the language 
is emphasized.
