Author; Rasulbek Oybekov Group: 3310 Introduction - Where to start when telling the history of psychology is a problem that never goes away. Some people would place the beginning of psychology in ancient Greece, while others would place it at the official proposal and establishment of psychology in the late 19th century. These two viewpoints, as well as all that lies in between, are suitable for outlining the development of psychology. The curious learner won't have any problem locating a ton of materials covering all of these eras and viewpoints. The mid-19th century will serve as the beginning point for this module's examination of the evolution of psychology in America. We refer to this as a history of modern psychology for convenience's sake.
Parmenides and Zeno - If it is true that for Heraclitus life thrives and even finds stillness in its continuous movement and change, then for Parmenides of Elea (c.515-c.450 B.C.E.) life is at a standstill. Parmenides was a pivotal figure in Presocratic thought, and one of the most influential of the Presocratics in determining the course of Western philosophy. According to McKirahan, Parmenides is the inventor of metaphysics (157)—the inquiry into the nature of being or reality. While the tenets of his thought have their home in poetry, they are expressed with the force of logic. The Parmenidean logic of being thus sparked a long lineage of inquiry into the nature of being and thinking.

Therefore, as contrast to current or contemporary philosophies, which typically have more focused methodology, ancient philosophies have a broader viewpoint.
