How to protect our green world

Probably, there is no such person on Earth who would not know a simple truth: nature is our home. And the future of all mankind largely, if not completely, depends on what happens to it. Alas, most of us have a very detached attitude to the problems of preserving the environment, according to the principle: “What can I do? There is a state, there are public organizations - they have real power and opportunities, so let them do it.
Although theoretically everyone agrees that it is necessary to protect nature, in practice only a few do it. Even at the household level. How much waste and garbage is left in the forest or along the banks of water bodies after our picnics? Someone will object: “Yes, this is a trifle, especially in comparison with global warming or depletion of the bowels.” But it is from such trifles that environmental problems arise, and if they are not dealt with, they grow to a global scale.Conservation of nature: is it possible?
Thoughtless nature management and industrialization have led to the fact that today we are on the verge of an ecological disaster, moreover, created by our own hands. Man, considering himself the crown of creation, for many years sought to remake nature to suit his needs, changing its natural processes. One has only to remember the project of turning the Siberian rivers back: what this could lead to in the region is scary even to imagine. Fortunately, this plan was not realized. However, how many smaller, but no less harmful projects have been implemented?
We cannot wait for favors from nature, it is our task to take them from her,” these are the words of I.V. Michurin became a call to action for a long time, and not only in Russia. And
they took and took from nature for many years, giving nothing in return, guided only by consumer principles. The Aral Sea, which was the fourth largest lake in the world, almost completely dried up as a result of degradation caused by the diversion of most of the flow of the Syr Darya and Amu Darya rivers for irrigation and other needs of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. In 1989, it was divided into two reservoirs - the Big and Small Aral. In place of the retreating sea, the Aralkum desert was formed, the climate in the water area became more arid, and winters were colder. Poisonous salts from the bottom of the sea are carried by winds around the world - they were found on the glaciers of Greenland and in the blood of penguins in Antarctica.Global warming.
Climate change around the world is caused by human activity: coal-fired power plants and factories, cars, agricultural enterprises emit almost 22 billion tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year, and about half of it remains there. As a result, the so-called greenhouse effect is created. According to the observations of scientists, the average air temperature since the beginning of the twentieth century has increased by about 0.74°C [1] . Moreover, increased growth begins after 1980, and each of the subsequent decades becomes warmer than the previous one. For example, the temperature of permafrost soils in Western Siberia has increased by 1°C since the early 1970s, and by 3°C in northern Alaska [2] .
Global warming leads to the melting of glaciers, rising sea levels, increased frequency of floods, droughts, and so on. According to forecasts, further deterioration of the situation may lead to a sharp jump in climate and the onset of a new ice age. What is humanity doing to save nature?
But is it really that bad? Is humanity really not aware of the problem and is not trying to take at least some steps to solve it? Of course he understands. Of course he tries. At the global level, there is even a UN environmental program - UNEP, established on the basis of a resolution of the UN General Assembly back in 1972. But, despite its presence, not all countries are aware of the need for active protection of the environment. And the less developed the country, the less attention it pays to this problem. Perhaps this is due to the low standard of living of the population, the raw material orientation of the economy, and the lag in scientific and technological development. In Western countries, where the problem of hunger and poverty has long ceased to be in the first place, there is an opportunity to seriously deal with environmental problems. And in states where the main task of people is to feed their children,
In recent years, the concentration of dust and sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere of large European cities has decreased significantly. For example, compared with the level of the 80s, sulfur emissions have decreased by almost a third. The concentration of heavy metals in the Rhine was also reduced - this made it possible to restore fishing.
