Grammatical Transformations
Lexical transformations
Explains the use of the above-mentioned transformations as follows: first, the absence of grammatical structures of the source language in the target language. Secondly, the ability to accessibly convey the information of the original language, dividing complex sentences of the source text into several simple ones. Thirdly, the ability to convey the content of the text, while maintaining the adequacy and equivalence. In addition, the translation of these articles required the use of such techniques as transliteration, transcription and calibration. Transcription was used to translate proper names:
The transliteration technique was also used in the translation of first and last names
In translating educational institutions, project names, studies, and some physiological phenomena, the method of calendaring and semi-calendering was used:
CONCLUSION Summarizing the work done, it should be noted that the translation of popular science texts has its own characteristic features, just like any other text belonging to a different sub-style, style and genre. In the course of the work we came to the conclusion that popular science texts do not allow the use of free translation, as they contain specific concepts, explanations and descriptions of research. The possibility of literal translation is also excluded, as there is a violation of the meaning of the transmitted information, there is a distortion of the grammatical structure of sentences, as well as lexical meanings. The use of translation transformations helps to avoid such violations. Popular science texts have a special vocabulary and grammar. However, they do not require the reader to have any special knowledge in the field the work is devoted to. The articles are intended for a wide range of readers of different age groups. In addition, texts of such topics can have a different composition of information, not limited to the cognitive type. It is also necessary to draw conclusions from the work on specific texts of articles presented in the term paper. The aim is to justify the use of adequate and partially literal translation strategies when translating the texts "The funny business of laughter" and "LaughLab. The scientific search of the world's funniest joke. Final report" was achieved. The tasks set in the introduction have been accomplished. The articles "The funny business of laughter" and "LaughLab. The scientific search of the world's funniest joke. Final report" do not have complicated scientific terminology, because they are intended for the mass reader. There is no need to take into account the gender factor. In addition, the peculiarity of these articles is the different composition of the information. In addition to the cognitive, it also has aesthetic and operational functions. During the translation of these articles the adequate translation strategy was used with the elements of the literal translation of certain word combinations, where it was possible and appropriate. The type of translation was adequate with elements of literal translation. The level of equivalence according to V.N. Komissarov is third and fourth (semantic and grammatical). An important component of the translation was the use of different translation transformations - grammatical, lexical and complex, which allowed us to fully convey the meaning of the texts from the source language into the target language. In addition, in the translation there were cases when it was necessary to use such translation techniques, as tracing, transliteration and transcription. Primarily they were required for the translation of proper names. Consequently, a transformational model of translation was used. In the course of this work, we had to resort to the help of different dictionaries, both Russian-language and foreign. Also, in order to perform a detailed pre-translational analysis and linguistic-translational commentary, it was necessary to read the works of prominent researchers in the field of translation - Kommisarov V. N. Alekseeva I. S. Schweitzer A. D. and others, as well as refer to some foreign sources. Download 58.2 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
