I welcoming remarks

1. Trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan
and Kazakhstan. We are assigned with the task of ensuring the
growth of bilateral trade in the coming years to $ 5 billion, i.е. its
increase is more than 2.5 times.
Achievement of these goals can be facilitated by the full
and timely realization of the paragraphs "Strategies for economic
cooperation between our governments for 2017-2019", as well as
signed export-import contracts worth more than $ 839.5 million.
Today, we have all the opportunities and prerequisites for
this.
Reference: According to the results of the first half of this
year the volume of foreign trade turnover between our countries
was $ 953.0 million (growth rate + 11.4%), incl. exports - $
483.8 million (+ 16.6%), imports - $ 469.2 million (+ 6.5%).
The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan decided to
reduce rates and abolish fully since April 1 this year excise tax on
a number of goods of Kazakhstani agricultural products.
For reference: From 11 to 5% on wheat flour; from 20 to
10% on sunflower and safflower oil; from 50 to 10% on canned
vegetables, without the addition of vinegar; from 70 to 30% on
fruit and vegetable juices; from 70 to 25% on sauces and ready-
made sauces (excluding tomato ketchup and mayonnaise). Excise
tax on pasta is abolished.
This will increase the amount of receipt of agricultural
products to Uzbekistan to expand the number of goods on the
shelves of stores that are in demand by the population.
Further continuation of joint work on the mutual formation
of favorable conditions will significantly expand trade and
economic cooperation which in turn, will significantly boost the
volume of trade between our countries.
2.
Investment cooperation has
been
significantly
intensified.
Within the framework of the Agreement on the
organization of assembly production of GM-Uzbekistan cars in

Kostanay which was signed during the State visit, for the first
time in the history of the Uzbek automobile industry, the
production of cars abroad began, starting from May 22, 2010.
The serial production of Uzbek cars "Ravon Nexia R3" with a
design capacity of 7 thousand units per year was launched. Since
the beginning of the year more than 2 thousand cars were
delivered to Kazakhstan.
At present, cooperation with Kazakh partners is intensified
with regard to the creation of joint assembly production of
agricultural machinery, household electrical appliances, and the
production of medicines.
