The importance of agriculture in developing world(1)

Conclusion

Modern agriculture offers consumers tremendous economic and social advantages, including improved quality of life and a better standard of living, as the cost of food decreases. When more buying power is given to other consumer products, schooling, health care, recreation, etc, this ultimately raises consumer profits. This development has been an important driving force for both developed and some emerging countries' economic development. Consumers in the United States actually pay less than 10% of their disposable income on food, while those in developed nations spend half or more of their disposable income on food, a significant barrier to their quality of life. It is now commonly accepted that the growth of a modern food system in most of the world today has been an important factor in raising the quality of living.
