Investment portfolio of banks — a number of securities bought by the bank during active operations. It includes, as well, shares of industrial and other companies, bonds of central and local authorities, public enterprises having mainly a long-term character. Formation of the investment portfolio is carried out by banks with the account of profitability provision, liquidity regulation, necessary diversification of assets.
