Investment cooperation — a type of international economic rela­tions. Its purpose is rational distribution of resources, achieving higher

results in the economy owing to use of advantages of participation in international distribution of labour. Term investment cooperation is used in two meanings: it has a broad sense if it is referred to all types of investments; it has a narrow sense when only one type of invest­ments is taken into consideration.

Investment bank — a kind of credit institutions mobilizing long-term loan capital and giving it to borrowers (companies and govern­ment) by means of release and allocation of bonds. Investment banks have the following functions: revealing character and size of financial needs of borrowers, selecting types of securities, determining terms of their release with the account of the market conditions, their release and further allocation among investors. In case of necessity invest­ment banks can also provide a secondary market for the securities re­leased earlier.
