Video conferencing has become important nowadays due to the increasing need for remote communication and collaboration across different locations and time zones. It allows people to connect face-to-face in real-time without the need for physical travel, saving time and cost while improving productivity and efficiency.2. What are video conferencing facilities and what is their function?
Video conferencing facilities are hardware and software tools that enable people to connect and communicate remotely via video, voice, and data transmission. They include cameras, microphones, speakers, codecs, displays, networks, and applications such as Zoom, Skype or Google Meet. Their function is to provide an immersive virtual meeting experience that mimics a physical meeting room while overcoming distance barriers and facilitating teamwork and decision-making.
Task 3. Write about the first experience of using video conferencing equipment, ZOOM
My first experience of using Zoom was quite exciting yet daunting at the same time. I had never used any kind of video conferencing software before but as my work had moved online due to COVID-19 restrictions I was asked by my employer to sign up for Zoom as a way to communicate with my colleagues.
I remember feeling nervous about how it would work out but once I got started it was relatively easy to get the hang of things. I found the interface user-friendly with its simple layout which made it easy for me to navigate around its various features such as screen sharing, chat box etc.
The best thing about using Zoom was being able to see my colleagues faces in real-time which made me feel like we were in the same room together even though we were miles apart from each other.
Overall my first experience using Zoom was very positive and it has now become an indispensable tool for me when communicating with others remotely.
