Keep Loudoun Beautiful (KLB), a local non-profit founded in 1972, has been actively

bags of garbage in the greater Lovettsville area.  The Town of Lovettsville was encouraged

by KLB to formally designate a day to encourage citizens and residents to take part in litter

collection.  The recently updated Comprehensive plan identifies community goals that

include protecting, conserving and restoring the natural resources of the town including

promoting a healthy environment for all citizens.  Residents of greater Lovettsville are

cordially invited to participate in the first annual “Keep Lovettsville Beautiful Day” event

hosted by the Town and KLB April 8

the south end of the bike trail on the Berlin Turnpike (Rt. 287) and begin there.  This is

near the intersection of the Berlin Turnpike and Loudoun Street. They will then move

down to a second site for clean-up efforts at Church Street at the post office.  Bags, vests

and some gloves will be available.  Parking is available at the Lovettsville Game Club,

Lovettsville Elementary and Red Bud Lane.  This is a family-friendly event and safety

measures will be taken.  Please email Lovettsville Town Councilman, Jim McIntyre, for

details and to RSVP:  jmcintyre@lovettsvilleva.gov.  RSVPs are appreciated but not

required.
