The world will wail thee like a makeless wife.
And in the translation: O’lsem, jesir qalıp jılar su’ygenim, Dep qorqıp, hesh kimdi su’ymesen’ kerek, Biraq du’nya kiyer tul hayal kibin, Eger bul turısın’da ketsen’ ju'wermek. "The world will waile thee like a makelesse wife" here means a lonely woman who has lost her livelihood. Translation of literature is fundamentally different from other categories, and the features of literary translation of works are numerous. This means that in addition to providing information to the reader, literary translation also performs aesthetic functions. An artistic image created in a particular literary work (whether it is an image of a character or nature) will certainly have an impact on the reader. For this reason, a literary translator must take into account all the features of the source text. When reading a story, poem, or any other literary work translated from a foreign language, we perceive the text itself with its meaning, emotions, and characters. To achieve the main goal of translation, namely to create a certain image for the reader, is quite a difficult task. Therefore, literary translation may have some deviations from the standard rules in order to show what features the writer wanted to convey to the reader. A word-for-word translation cannot reflect the depth and meaning of a literary work. It's all about how the translator sees it, because you can read a phrase in different ways. He rewrites the text from beginning to end. An experienced translator will be able to convey the skill and humor that the speaker wanted to display in the book, while preserving the style and atmosphere. However, if he translated the text in this state, he could not give its meaning as it is now. The poet translated this sentence with the word "tul hayal" in the Karakalpak language, keeping its meaning and syllables correctly. And again, the success of the poet - when he was able to keep the form and the content together, he made good use of the line of words. Literary translation is one of the most important tools in strengthening cultural ties and friendship between peoples, exchanging cultural resources of peoples with each other.[5:6] Literary translations are quite expensive, which is not surprising, since specialists must process a large layer of source information. The work is performed according to a specific algorithm. The translator reads the text, then distributes individual terms, divides the text into logical sections, and translates these sections one by one. Much attention is paid to the style of translation. The translated text is processed in several stages. In fact, through translation, especially through the translation of literary literature, we can learn the history, program, mentality, culture and outlook of a nation. Therefore, by reading the works of representatives of written fiction with a centuries-old history - we can have a new experience. Literary translation requires great skills because the characteristics of the literary translation are numerous. Do not forget that the translation of a book or poem may be read by thousands of readers. This means that the text must be adequate, and what's more, we need to focus on the fact that the translated document must produce the same image as the original. One of the most common difficulties in translation is that the source and target languages belong to different cultures. For example, works written in Arabic are full of sacred texts taken from the Koran, and their translation and meaning may be difficult for people of another religion to understand. As a result, understanding different cultures becomes more difficult than understanding different languages. And also here I want to give some example of translated works. “Beauty” Thought writing is not my thing, Authors have no patience, though. But my heart loves beauty, Even though, I am over fifty. This translated from the book written by T.Jumamuratov, which we can see the difference between translated and original words. Translation can consume some words while changing into another language but still it can save their meaning. And that is the best part of the translated works. Now, for further explanation let’s see the original version of this short poem: Jazuw mag’an jaraspas dep jur edim, Shayirlarda bolmasa da ko’p shidam. Suluwliqti suyer biraq, juregim. Jas o’tsede alli degen shoqqidan. In this poem author wanted to describe that he fall in love again with a girl even though, he is over fifty. And also author wanted to say that in authors have not enough patience that’s why he decided to write a poem about a girl. So in this translation we changed some words by changing their order and by missing one or two of the words. In that case we could have the greater poem that can describe that poem as its native one did. For example we changed the first one and we cut off the word “jaraspas dep jut edim”, instead we wrote “not my thing” because the word ”jur edim” cannot translate fully word by word, that’s why we changed them into “not my thing”. In other translated works we can see those kinds of shortening or cutting off actions. And it can arose a difficulty for the translators. Because, they would be judged to changing the words. And some people could think that that would have better with those missed words. Another difficulty is translating a text that describes traditions that belong to a particular nation or territory in the world. In addition, words or terms that belong to a particular nation or territory may not have an equivalent in another language. In such cases, the translator must define these words. As you can see, the syntactic methods of two languages may not always be consistent with each other. When translating word-for-word, the syntactic norms of the language are violated, and this requires imagination. As a result, the values of the source and translated texts sometimes differ from each other. The author's language and purpose are defined, but the method of expression is unfamiliar to the language being studied. The translator must convey the feelings and emotions of the author and characters using the necessary literary techniques. That is why the famous critic N. G. Chernyshevsky highly valued the translation in literature than the original copy, and emphasized the place of peoples in intermediate literature in their works. In his 1856 review called "Shiller's Lyrical Songs in Translation of Russian Poets, N.V. Gerbelt's Preparation for Printing," he wrote: "if more attention had been paid to the literature of translation, historical-literary works would not have suffered from useless one-sidedness, and the translation would be simpler than before". At this point, the critic wanted to say that the role of translation is not only in literature, but also related to history. [6:7] In order for each translated song to be important for Karakalpak literature, it is necessary to translate it well, to be able to convey the translation in an understandable way to all readers, only then the translated work will find its purpose, whether it is poetry or prose. It is especially difficult to translate poetic works, which have undergone inversion, because it is difficult to fully convey the syllables and analogies. It is recognized by writers that lyrics are complex, difficult to analyze, have a strong emotional impact on people, and express their most sensitive feelings. [7:7] Among such objects in the lyrics is the opportunity that affects the poet's feelings. In translation, it is not easy to understand and deliver the opportunity that affects the poet's feelings therefore, it requires great taste. Dante said in his treatise "Pir" that "Everyone should know that it is impossible to translate the musical basis of an unfinished song from one language to another without destroying its harmony and beauty." Therefore, if we only translate words into a translation, the idea that is to be expressed in it will not fit properly, and the idea will be different. Such a translation, in its case, naturally affects the individual work of the translator. The reason is that when translating word for word, the number of sentences increases, it confuses the main purpose of the author.[8:8] Martin Luther, who opposed literal translation into his mother tongue, said in his work "On the Art of Translation" that in order for the translation to be understandable for the reader, it is necessary to use all the resources of the language and to be able to extract a general meaning from the original. He achieved this goal by translating the texts of the Bible, this translation mainly used the lively spoken language of the German language and contributed to the enrichment and development of the German language. This situation caused a big change in the country's political life. Luther's actions continued in England. The free translation movement is associated with the name of Albrecht von Eyba. He freely translated Plautus's comedy from Greek, changed the names of the characters, and gave them a new form. In his opinion, "not the words, but the meaning should be delivered in a complete and understandable way." This kind of translation spread, and as a result, in the XVII-XVIII centuries, free translation gained great importance. Download 30.73 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
