Advantages and disadvantages of living in a house or apartment
There are two kinds of people: those who love living in a flat and those who prefer living in an individual house. The choice depends on a lot of factors and personal preferences but I believe that having a house has more benefits than drawbacks.
The biggest disadvantage for flats is that they’re considerably smaller than houses. A house has a lot of rooms, a garden with fruit trees, flowers and space for children to play, access to the rooftop and the basement level.
On the other hand, it is easy to maintain a small flat, to fix and repair it and keep it clean and organized. Houses take a huge amount of time and money to maintain and make high utility bills to pay. You have to mow the lawn in summer, clean the snow around the house in winter, wash plenty of windows, vacuum several floors and do a lot of other household duties.
In a flat, you’re surrounded by neighbors and they may not all be quiet and friendly. If you prefer peace and quiet, you may have trouble finding those things in a flat. Pet lovers will also find flats to be tricky. If you want to keep a dog, you’ll struggle in such a tight environment.
When living in a house you’ll have more freedom and much more privacy. No neighbors to bother you, no restrictions. Houses are better for those who enjoy throwing parties and having barbecues with friends in the backyard. Besides, you can build the house and decorate the yard to your taste.
In conclusion, choosing a perfect place to live depends on your lifestyle and personal preferences. And it would be wrong to place one choice above the other.
