ABSTRACT 
Environmental problems, which have become one of the most important 
problems of each and every country, have gained an international dimension 
especially because of the effects of globalization. Within this frame the study 
offers a range of solutions while dealing with globalization and related 
environmental problems, sustainable development and its national and 
international dimension. The environmental values should be accepted as 
common properties of all the societies in international scope so as to make the 
environmental law effective on international level. All the communities should 
be informed of the disasters waiting for them in case of the extinction of these 
values. If the environmental consciousness increases, the international 
regulations regarding the environment will be more easily accepted. 
The scope of this dissertation covers the following issues: to establish a national 
and international cooperation and mutual trust in order to solve the 
environmental problems; as a result of globalization to get rid of the borders by 
establishing an intense information network within the international plan; and to 
deal with the threats against living environments because of the integration of 
markets and the rise of competition due to communication technologies. The 
current situation of ecology and city planning is a result of dominating business 
and labor style rather than weak government. The technology and technological 
order developed to meet the needs of the capitalist system and to solve the

problems caused by it continue to be not the solution but structurally the reason 
of the destruction of ecology and degeneration of human health. 
In the globalizing world it is generally the developed countries that have 
established information networks by means of mass communication devices. The 
developed countries export their own cultural identities while exporting some 
information to other countries or masses. Thus within this media network 
developed by technology, the “cultural codes” and “cultural models” of the 
powerful affect and influence the other countries. 
If we want the future generations to live in a peaceful and happy world, we 
should try hard so as not to let the inevitable yet vague concept of globalization 
turn into a disaster by using our common sense, wisdom, consciousness and by 
being fair and ethical. This should not be done merely for East or West but for 
all humanity.
