Ten days in a backpacker’s hostel in Bangkok 
in April.
 
• 
Read out the information about the different 
holidays and make sure that the students 
understand chalet (a kind of basic wooden house), 
lively (lots of people and activity), backpacker 
(usually a young person who goes travelling with 
their things in a backpack) and hostel (a very basic 
hotel, mainly for young people).
• 
Put the students into pairs and ask them to copy 
down the list of categories from Ex. A into their 
notebook. Ask them to write the letter of each 
holiday next to each category. If necessary, do 
the first one as an example: all-inclusive: A. Point 
out that more than one holiday can go next to 
each category. Elicit answers and write them on 
the board.

Put the students into pairs and set a time limit 
of one minute for them to discuss the question. 
Elicit some ideas from the class.

headings:

Ask the students to look at the list of categories 
in their notebook and to decide how important 
each one is for them. They should write 1 if it is 
very important, 2 if it is quite important and 3 if it 
is not very important.
