The aim of the research work: It consists in studying the connection of the Middle Paleolithic settlements with sources of raw materials, analyzing the influence of stone raw materials on the formation, distribution of monuments and the appearance of the industry.
The object of the research work. The object of the study is the sites of the Middle Paleolithic Muzbel, Khatak and Angilak, and their collections.
The subject of the research Stone raw materials and raw materials strategy are the subject of research.
The scientific novelty of the research is:
On the basis of the material from the Muzbel site, discovered as a result of field research, various regional types of Middle Paleolithic sites have been identified. The use of raw stone resources was carried out with high mobility associated with the seasonal habitation of hunting groups;
It was established that a mixed resource strategy was used at the Khatak site. In the food site, local raw materials of silicified limestone were used extensively, while other brought types of high-quality raw materials were used intensively;
it was revealed that the industry of the Angilak grotto, due to the lack of high-quality raw materials, had an amorphous appearance and the technique of fragmenting chips and tools was widely used here;
On the basis of the collections of the monuments of Muzbel, Khatak and Angilak, different stages of processing of raw materials during their transportation to the sites were established; different ways of transporting raw materials are defined. The place of regional, periodic and socio-cultural similarities and differences in the resource strategy applied by the Middle Paleolithic communities is determined;
