1
International Relations is a very old field of study that grew out of politics and history many centuries ago.
2
IR does not deal with domestic contexts within a particular territory, but focuses on how this territory (state
or region) links in with other territories.
3
IR focuses on everything that is above the state, that flows above one government`s jurisdiction.
4
IR tries to identify the causes of why certain things happen and goes deeper into those
things which no
newspaper article can give us.
5
IR does not focus on domestic political objectives, but on foreign policy, international cooperation,
international economy.
6
IR does not examine the moral and behavioral dynamics that structure interaction between states.
7
IR studies war and atrocity along with processes of cooperation and integration.
8
The pop conversation and the academic conversation about IR are similar in the way that you
should start
with some sort of outrage or yell about problems and issues of concern.
9
The only way to understand how the world functions and how international relations function is to go into
diplomacy, into international economic relations and become a statesperson, a decision-maker.
