OUR INSTITUTE
Andizhan State Medical Institute was founded in 1955 on the basis of Tashkent Middle-Asian Pediatric Institute. The first rector of the Institute was professor Alimov. Prominent medical scientists of those days taught young men the profession of a doctor which was greatly required for the population of Andizhan province. Medical students needed the opportunity to perfect their professional skill and for this purpose the Clinical Hospital was built in 1971 with the great assistance of professor Yu.O.Otabekov.
Year by year professor-teachers staff had been increased and more and more students from Fergana Valley had been admitted. Now ASMI is a great study establishment with its scientific material base. It has three faculties. Pediatric faculty prepares Children Diseases specialists. They provide medical help to newborns and children. Therapeutic faculty includes three directions: Therapy, Professional Education and Nursing Affairs. Stomatology Faculty prepares specialists in Dentistry Therapy and Surgery. Besides, our graduates can continue their education at Master’s Degree, Post-Graduated Education and Doctor’s Advanced Courses Departments.
The course of study at the medical Institute is six years. During this period the students master the basis of theoretical and practical medicine. The new four-storied building, which is situated near the Clinical Hospital, has been recently built with the great assistance of professor M.M.Madazimov. Buildings of our Institute are well-supplied with modern medical equipment where students can gain necessary knowledge.
