Question 1. How long have you been learning English language?
Second question was given to determine their current target goal from learning English as it showed the investigators to choose appropriate coursebook content in order to meet their needs, lacks and wants.
Question 2. Why are you learning English?
4 stated – to visit foreign countries
15 stated – to open a private business such as logistics company
6 stated – to win an opportunity to continue future studies in foreign companies.
Question 3. Have you passed an international testing system such as TOEFL, IELTS and etc.?
In this group, nobody experienced before passing these international proficiency tests. Yet, they were really determined to take at least one of them in near future as it is the requirement of prestigious companies. So they mentioned that on those days they were attending to extra English lessons.
Question 4. Do you like your current English language classes?
14 – Yes
11 – No
Almost two fourth of the students stated that they were in favour of their way of learning English in the lessons. However, there were varying opinions saying that it would be better if they were provided with more instructions on fostering their speaking skills.
Question 5. Which one do you think is necessary for you?
As can be seen from the graph the highest number was for explaining routines. Participants claimed that their profession is to work vehicles so they definitely come across this issue in their daily routine. Next important need was developing listening for details as they believed in order to explain routines they should also be able to receive information flow clearly.
Question 6. Is it necessary to speak in English in your career?
All the respondents chose the answer ‘yes’ as they stated they would be dealing with foreign partners in order to arrange agreements on delivery of goods. Therefor, they highly approved the idea of increasing amount of time for speaking activities within the class.
