An unusual dream
It was a cold evening on the mountain. The two climbers were very tired. ‘We’ve been climbing
all day and it’ll soon be dark’, said Mark. ‘Why don’t we set up camp for the night?’ ‘Good idea,’ replied Simon. ‘I’ve been feeling sleepy for a while.’
Later that night, Simon had a dream. He
dreamed that he was alone and walking up the side of the mountain. It was dark, but the moon was shining so he could see his way clearly. All at once he had an uneasy feeling. He felt that an invisible presence was watching him. He looked around him, but all he could see was snow. Then suddenly he saw it. A large creature briefly appeared, then disappeared behind a rock. It had silver fur and evil black eyes. Simon sensed he
was in danger. He began to run towards the tent.
Just at that moment he woke up. He switched on the torch and saw that Mark was awake too. ‘I’ve just had a terrible dream,’ said Simon. ‘I dreamed that a strange creature was following me up the side of the mountain.’ Mark looked frightened. ‘What’s the matter?’ asked Simon. ‘I had the
same dream,’ he replied. ‘What does it mean?’
The two climbers went outside, but all they could see was white snow. They walked slowly back to the tent.
In the distance a strange silver creature watched them from behind a rock.
