CONCLUSION
In this study of course paper I analyzed major and minor types, as well as this study shows that word-formation and its productive type of compounding play important roles in constructing word in a language. As it is possible to create new words with the help of compound words it is stated as a productive type of word formation. Clearly, compound words are formed in three different ways, they are open, closed and hyphenated compound words. According to its meaning there two types, motivated and unmotivated. There are not only some similarities, but also differences between compounds and free phrases, and I tried to explain them in my research. It is proven and identified by the existence of word formation process found in some words, additionally from thus study I also conclude that compounding is one of the most commonly used in forming new, especially in world of fashion. In chapter one I focused on word-formation and its branches, I classified them into parts. After I described word formation deeply I moved on compounding but in the chapter one I did not state main ideas only mentioned what compounding is as I gave detailed information about it in chapter two. One more thing I also added correlation between compound words and free phrases in order to help language learners to identify the free phrases and compound words, as I, myself had some difficulties in distinguishing them. In chapter two I tried to focus especially on inside of compounding. I classified the according to the meaning and forms. For example, there are three types of compound process in forming English words, mainly Endocentric compound, Exocentric Compound and Copulative or Dvandva Compound. I gave brief definitions and clear examples for each above.
Through I hoped that this topic, compound words in English, can be beneficial to readers, such as linguists, language teachers, and language learners. To linguists, especially morphologists, I think it can be used as a source of reference in researching language words in the field of morphology. To language teachers, it is hoped that this research is applicable in teaching vocabulary to students in classrooms. To language learners, particularly those who wish to be able to enrich the vocabulary, this research is useful since the compounding process is productive enough in creating or producing new words and meanings. Aside of that, I also hope that there will be more researchers who conduct research in compound words and they also learn something new and beneficial for their career and their learning process, because I also the more I researched the more I learnt and got a wealth of information. I reckon that this research will be helpful for my future career and I also learnt how to investigate in one particular topic and this research made me to be patient and be more detailed, the reason why because, it was so hard to read different articles and books in one topic so it required to be patient. It will be a good idea to research and analyze deeper the interface between compound words and meanings. At the end of the chapter two I tried to give some useful exercises to readers in order to understand this topic well. I strived to use several types of activities such as matching words, multiple choice questions and filling gaps. Furthermore, the researcher wishes that there will be a research which discuss and analyze compound words qualitatively.
