IV. Entry 4. Reflective Writing
Reflective writing
Teaching foreign languages particularly English language is demanding around our country. That’s why learning teaching methods, pupils behaviors and teaching hints are most important process in teacher’s life. We should observe carefully, work hard, learn in detail and pay attention to everything while learning language. I usually try to into consideration these points as a language learner. This reflective essay is written to summarize all experiences observations which I made during active and passive practice. I gave my opinion about every lesson and process of the teaching process which I analyzed during two months. I mean I want to reflect all my summarizes and to conclude my experiences which I got during the teaching practice. Firstly, I was busy with observe the lessons which conducted bu my mentor and peer-teacher. I observed not on English classes but also other subjects classes. Secondly, my teaching practice started on 5 September, and lasted till on 15 November. Thirdly, I worked with documents of practice in institute with my supervisor.
The conference held on the first day at the meeting hall. The dean of English faculty Yusupov O.Ya. and the chair of methodology Turdiyeva N.Ya and Rustamov A.A accounted for practice documents according to the presentation, gave explanations about the features of teaching practice and clearness us how to participate in this process and we were informed with all important instructions. The next day we all went pointed schools. We were leaded by N. Siddikova who was a head of our practice. My practice was carried out the school №25 in the region Bulungur. Every week we used to give a report to our supervisor what we were teaching our pupils at school and shared our ideas and teaching methods with our groupmates.
I have observed them in literature, mother tongue, math and other subjects. I have notified that every pupil interested in different subjects and they have kind of abilities and skills this fields. I have scrutinized also their behaves ours in classes, out of classes yes not in families. In school different kind of meetings, extracurricular activities has been hold by teachers. I also tried to participate them but not all of them.
During my practice I learned many things connected to the educational system of the school and teaching process. The first week of the teaching practice was passive. We learned how to teach and observed lessons. My teaching practices and experiences as an English teacher at primary school was very interesting. I learnt the most necessary methods of teaching foreign languages and studies the objectives, techniques oi instruction, and methods of training and teaching foreign language materials.
I tried to speak with them friendly about their problems in studies or about their difficulties or drawbacks. The next problem is time management. Because in my class there are 18 and 21 pupils. So sometimes it is impossible to evaluate all of them in one lesson or at the same time. I made some extracurricular activities with some willing pupils. Besides this I held the motivation about their marks. I deal with them if they read one novel I promised to raise their marks. It worked and they tried to read novels and reading a book is necessary not only by teachers but also for other professions.
In other words, my practice work was very interesting. I learned the most necessary methods which is connected with our job. The school was very wonderful place that made me happy. Also, teachers were very kind, good nature and mainly they were very knowledgeable. Our research was with primary school pupils. I was given to practice in 4 “A” class. That’s why lessons were very interesting. I am sure, the first method for teaching primary school children, it is game. Using game for teaching children is very effective way. Because, children are aid to be natural learners of a foreign language because they can learn it quickly and easily. But for teachers who have taught children this is not completely true: children are able to pick up language quickly: however, they are likely to forget it quickly, too.
I understand it, that children today have a much greater superficial knowledge of the world than adults did when they were their age. At this level, I understood that good teachers need to provide a rich diet of learning experiences which proves, their pupils to get information from a variety of sources. I used activities convenient for this stage like song, rhymes, stories total physical activities like acting, group games, making things. These were very important part of my teaching. Total physical response is very useful at this age, as children learn through their senses at this stage, not through abstract contact. I believe that since children learn a lot of their language from commands dedicated for them, second-language learners can benefit from this, too. This means getting children to do or mime what the teacher says.
Telling the truth, the experience which I took from the teaching practice is very great. It will be beneficial for me in my future career. The process of practice leaded me to know better the younger generations how to teach. How to communicate with them who have different learning styles, with pupils who have lacks in learning the language and others.
In Conclusion, the observation results of the teaching practice showed that teacher must be highly educated and smart eager to innovation in other case they can not make pupils obey and listen to them. So, if you want to be the best teacher, you should be acknowledged, motivated, polite, kind, patient and love to teach children and only in this case you can succeed, achieve your goals. As far as I am concerned as a teacher, I can say without any hesitation that being a teacher is a very difficult and responsible job. The practice and the experiences which we got at school will be beneficial for us in the future. Despite the difficulties which we faced while the teaching process, we try to be the highly educated teachers.
