Guideline on Final Qualification Paper
This Guideline is intended for teachers, supervisors, heads of departments, staff of education departments and it provides key guidance on writing final qualification paper.


Key terms:
In primary research, the researcher gathers data herself directly from the source - for instance, she might go into a classroom and interview students and teachers.
In secondary research, the researcher gathers data from the research that others have done. A literature review is an example of this type of research.
Qualitative research is non-numerical. This type of research can be based on observations or statements of opinion, and data can come from such sources as interviews, journals, field notes, and diaries.
Quantitative research is numerical. This type of research relies on data which can be reported in numbers. Numerical data can, for instance, be graphed.

ABSTRACT
The abstract is the last part of your paper that you write; it is a comprehensive, concise summary of your paper’s content and is normally 120 words or less in length. A good abstract has the following characteristics. First, it is accurate: a) it properly represents the paper’s purpose and ideas; b) it contains only information that appears in the body of the paper; and c) it cites any author whose work the paper extends or replicates. Second, it is self-contained: it defines any abbreviations, acronyms, or terms with which a reader might be unfamiliar. Third, it is concise and specific: it contains only the most important ideas in the paper, and these ideas are expressed in the fewest words possible. Fourth, it is non-evaluative: it neither comments on nor evaluates the content of the paper. Fifth, it is coherent and readable: its ideas follow a logical order and are clearly expressed.
