CONCLUSION
In order for healthcare practitioners to offer the best possible care for
their patients they need to practise in an evidence based manner. This
involves the development of skills that will enable the practitioner
to find and assess emerging information relevant to his particular
clinical practice. These skills include forming appropriate questions,
searching the literature, appraisal of research papers and the imple-
mentation of the findings into everyday practice. This is an ongoing
process which will ensure that patients receive the most up-to-date
effective care.
