Abstract: In this article, the organization and content of consecutive interpreting 
classes, which are a part of the field of oral interpretation are discussed.

Within the present-day world, when financial, political and scientific 
communication is getting to be increasingly universal, the requirements for 
competent interpretations is always developing. Successive deciphering will offer 
assistance to exchange the meaning of discourse from one language to another, 
taking into consideration the structure of the dialect, the highlights of the lingo, 
informal expressions and the specifics of linguistic use. One of the foremost 
common sorts of translating nowadays is consecutive interpreting. Unlike a written 
translation, a message in the original language is presented once. Consecutive 
interpreting is a method of interpreting in which the interpreter starts interpreting 
after the speaker has stopped speaking, having finished the whole speech or some 
part of it. 
Consecutive interpreting uses one language pair. The size of the translated 
segment of speech can be different: from a single statement to a text of a significant 
volume, but as a rule, no more than 2-3 minutes. This type of translation requires 
significant segments of the original to be retained in the translator’s memory for a 
long time before the start of translation. If the volume of the original exceeds several 
utterances, then the translator, in the process of perceiving the original, keeps a

record of the key moments of the content, which helps him to restore the listened 
message in his memory. 
An additional advantage of consecutive interpreting is that the audience can 
comprehend what was said in the pauses that the interpreter makes between blocks 
of phrases, which is especially important in negotiations that require making 
deliberate decisions. 
A feature of consecutive interpreting is also that all parties, including the 
interpreter, participate in the dialogue. Therefore, not only professional qualities, but 
also the personality of an interpreter and his appearance are of great importance, as 
well as perfect command of the language, competent speech, good diction, good 
voice, knowledge of etiquette and dress code, combined with an understanding of 
terminology relevant to the subject Events. People subconsciously perceive an 
interpreter who speaks with them in one (most often their native) language as the 
main interlocutor, while eye contact plays a significant role.
