Subject of research: the objects of the research are an American writer, James Fenimore Cooper`s two works` English version "The last of the Mohicans and "Pioneer".
Purpose of work : the purpose of this master`s dissertation to study the literary activity of Cooper and his two works “The last of the Mohicans” and “Pioneer”, to get the main idea of these works, to learn the attitude of fair people towards Native Americans(black people) in “The last of the Mohicans” as well as to find out about incompatibility of indian traditions and new world in “Pioneer”. To do these, it is planned to perform the following tasks:

  To study the XIXth century American literature and Romantic literature in that century;

  Specific features of Romanticism in the XIX th century in America;
  
• 
  To be informed about Fenimore Cooper`s life and creative activity;
  
• 
  The importance of Cooper`s works in American literature;
  
• 
  to learn the attitude of fair people towards Native Americans(black people) in “The last of the Mohicans” by Fenimore Cooper`
  
• 
  To find out incompatibility of Indian traditions and New World in “Pioneer” by Fenimore Cooper.
  

Methods of research: methods of analysis, description were used in writing the research work.
The results obtained and their novelty: the scientific novelty of the research is that the topic chosen by us was previously studied to some extent by researchers, but, but the works "The last of the Mohicans " and "Pioneer” were not fully analyzed according to the attitude of fair people towards Native Americans(black people) along with incompatibility of indian traditions and new world.
Practical value: the practical significance of the research results is explained by the fact that it can be used in higher education in the course of special courses in literature studies, literature theory, terminology, lexicology, as well as in the creation of textbooks, manuals and methodological recommendations on these disciplines.
Field of application: this work is of practical importance for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in the study of the literature of the country, seminars and practical classes. It also has its own scientific analysis for the study of world literature for literary critics. There in an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of application and learning in the lessons “Foreign Literary Studies”, “Comparative Typology of English and Uzbek Languages”, “Literary Theory”.
