Leo Tolstoy - "War and Peace"
Leo Tolstoy's novel-epic "War and Peace" contains more than 550 images, of which about 200 are historical figures and more than 20 large battles are depicted.
A. Bolkonsky with a sanguine, curious, egocentric character and a phlegmatic, emotion-based nobleman who obeys the dictates of his heart, Pierre Bezukhovs are the main characters of the novel.
Both of them are people with a loving heart, healthy thinking, looking for their place in life. They are connected by one of the most charming characters of the play, Natasha Rostova, who was first married to Prince Andrey, but married to Pierre due to the deceit of fate.
At the time when Russia was about to be conquered by Napoleon, War and Peace brought together the different classes who considered themselves superior to others in the fight against the enemy, and at the same time fully expressed the everyday life of the Russian people and their worldview. His birth was a big event for his time. In it, of course, there is love and suffering. The important thing is that the call to awakening in the consciousness of the people applies equally to today, to the people of today.

Ernest Hemingway - "The Old Man and the Sea"
In 1952, Hemingway, who had seen a lot and gathered enough life experience, wrote his story "The Old Man and the Sea". The story, which won the Nobel Prize, became an important event in the literary process due to its artistic skill and, moreover, the problems raised in it. It can be called a story with a deep philosophical meaning, at the same time, the images depicted in it rise to the level of symbolic generalization, have concrete and unique characters. A hardworking person who realized the meaning of life thanks to his work becomes a hero for the first time in Hemingway's work.
In the story, the sea appears as a living creature. "Other, younger fishermen talked about the sea as a space, a rival, sometimes an enemy. And the old man felt the sea like a kind woman, giving or depriving him of his generosity, although it is in its nature to do anything evil or reckless.''
Hemingway actually wrote that he was trying to "depict a real old man and a real boy, a real sea and a real fish, and a real shark." It must be admitted that the writer achieved his goal.
The story "The Old Man and the Sea" is a product of the writer's wisdom and intelligence. Hemingway's ideal of humanity, which he sought during his career and life, is perfectly reflected in his work. This path is full of searching, getting lost, and intrigues, and most of the representatives of the Western creative intelligentsia matured through this path. A conscientious creator, a realist writer, a contemporary of the 20th century, Hemingway searched for answers to the important problems of his time as he understood them, as he knew how, and came to the only conclusion: "Man cannot be defeated!".
