Direct strategies - The emotion regulation strategy of cognitive change refers to how interpretations or evaluations of emotional events are reframed to change emotional responses
Indirect strategies - Metacognitive strategies empower students to think about their own thinking. Awareness of the learning process enhances control over their own learning. It also enhances personal capacity for self-regulation and managing one's own motivation for learning.
- Affective strategies are learning strategies concerned with managing emotions, both negative and positive. The relationship between affective strategies and learning is not clear, but a positive affective environment helps learning in general.
