II. Geographical location and climate of Po»shkent
Po»shkent is located in the northeastern part of Uzbekistan and occupies an area of about 556 square 
kilometers. The city is situated at an altitude of 411 meters above sea level, on the western slopes of 
the Tien Shan Mountains. The climate of Po»shkent is continental, characterized by hot summers and 
cold winters. The average temperature in January is -3°C, while in July, it rises to 28°C. The annual 
precipitation in the city is relatively low, averaging about 400 millimeters per year. The city's location and 
climate have made it suitable for agriculture, notably the cultivation of cotton, fruits, and vegetables.
A. Location and boundaries


Po»shkent is located in the eastern part of Uzbekistan, in the valley of the Chirchik River. It is the largest 
city in the country, covering an area of 334.8 square kilometers. Its boundaries are defined by the Tashkent 
Province. The city is surrounded by a range of hills to the south and east, which shield it from the harsh 
winds of the Central Asian steppes. To the north and west, the city is bordered by sprawling urban areas 
that have developed over time as a result of rapid population growth. The city’s location and boundaries 
have contributed to its strategic importance as a center of transportation, commerce, and culture.
B. Weather conditions
Po»shkent's weather conditions are characterized by pronounced seasonal variations. The city's climate 
is arid continental, with hot summers and cold winters. Temperatures may reach up to 41°C during the 
summer months of June to August, while winter temperatures can drop as low as -22°C. Spring (March 
to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most pleasant seasons, with mild temperatures 
and occasional rainfall. Overall, the city experiences low precipitation levels, with an annual average of 
just 311 millimeters. Thus, visitors should plan their trip based on specific weather conditions to ensure 
a comfortable stay in Po»shkent.
As the city grew, so did its economy. Po»shkent became a center for trade and commerce along the Silk 
Road, with merchants from all over the world coming to buy and sell goods. The city also became known 
for its production of textiles and ceramics, which were highly sought after in markets across Central Asia. 
As the region's political landscape changed over the centuries, Po»shkent remained an important hub, and 
its cultural and economic influence continued to spread throughout the region. Today, the city remains a
