CHAPTER ONE 
 
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background 
It consists of a brief of the subject and the importance of the project. In “introduction 
chapter”, you should present any gap of knowledge you are dealing with and the problem 
statement. The motivations and objectives should also be presented. Additionally, the scope of 
work and project structure should be covered in the introduction. 
1.2 Problem Statements
For each research, there should be an existing problem which the project aims to present 
and solve. In this section, problem statements should be presented, showing any gap of 
knowledge that the project would potentially be covering. A brief of literature review should 
be introduced here presenting the current related works with achievements and limitations.
1.3 Motivations
State the motivations behind choosing this subject, such as the significance of the study 
or topic novelty…etc.
 
1.4 Objectives
What is the achievements that you intend to obtain in your project and what is the results 
that should be reached? Such as the following examples: 
1- To investigate the existing channel coding techniques used in UFMC systems in order to 
highlight the weakness points.

2- To design a novel ABC code with high error correction ability that differs from familiar 
channel coding techniques that used an outer code with an inner code then appended by an 
interleaver. 
3- To evaluate the UFMC system's performance over multi-path fading channel by comparing 
it with the conventional OFDM system for both BPSK and QPSK modulation schemes in terms 
of BER performance, OOBE, and PAPR. 
 
1.5 Scope of Study

1.6 Project Organization 
This project comprises four chapters, starting from the introduction in Chapter 1 
explaining the background of UFMC systems with presentation of the problem statements, 
motivations, objectives and scope of the project. The rest of the chapters are introduced as
